As previously mentioned, CME plans to continue implementing upgrades to the Market Data Network after the close of business
on Friday, March 4, 2005 to enhance the network. Distributors are strongly encouraged to participate in connectivity and
data testing on Saturday, March 5, 2005, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Central Time.
In the interest of efficient testing, and to facilitate communications, we ask you to please ensure that the individual designated
to participate in testing is knowledgeable in the daily operations of CME Market Data Network connectivity and data formats.
The individuals who will be participating in this Saturday’s testing should be:
- Familiar with the CME’s MDN Channel configurations to both our Wacker Drive facility and the Remote Data Center
- Well-versed in the types of data that are usually sent
- Conversant regarding procedures such as the retransmission process
- Can readily identify missing sequence numbers.
It is critically important that the individual designated to participate in the testing meets the above criteria, because
when the right staff is not present, it slows down the process and impedes the success of the test.
In preparation for this test, please email kbrady@cme.com, acknowledging your company’s participation in Saturday’s test, and provide us with primary and secondary contact names,
phone numbers and cellular phone numbers, no later than the close of business today, March 4, 2005.
Once you have completed testing, please confirm via email to the following individuals that you tested successfully or unsuccessfully
(in which case, please provide an explanation of why the test was unsuccessful). Failure to respond via email will be interpreted
as a successful test result.
